Man hospitalised and woman arrested following alleged attempted murder in town centre

A 58-year-old man has been hospitalised with life-changing injuries, and a 45-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Pontypridd town centre on Tuesday morning.

The alleged incident occurred around 9 am in a lane between the probation service and Kwikfit, according to South Wales Police. The woman, a local resident, is currently being detained at Merthyr Tydfil police station for questioning.

Detective Inspector Kath Barry of Pontypridd CID stated, “I want to thank members of the community who have come forward and have supported our investigation.”
