Cymru manager Rob Page has unveiled his squad of 26 players, setting the stage for two significant encounters. The historic Stōk Cae Ras in Wrexham is poised to witness Cymru’s clash against Gibraltar on Wednesday, 11th October. Notably, this marks a triumphant return to the world’s oldest international football stadium, where Cymru first graced the pitch in 1877.
Adding to the excitement, two rising stars, Charlie Savage and Owen Beck, have received their maiden senior team call-ups, transitioning from the U21s. Luke Harris and Dylan Levitt make a welcome return after missing out last month. However, the squad faces setbacks as key players Aaron Ramsey, Brennan Johnson, and Morgan Fox nurse injuries, rendering them unavailable. On a positive note, Regan Poole makes a comeback to the senior team for the first time since 2019.
The spotlight then shifts to the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against formidable opponents, Croatia, at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday, 15th October. This match promises to be a fierce battle, with Croatia leading the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying round group. Cymru previously faced Croatia in their opening match of the qualifying campaign in March, securing a valuable point with a 1-1 draw in Split, thanks to a debut goal by Nathan Broadhead.
