Two men in masks threatened an employee at a petrol station before committing a robbery in the early hours.
The incident occurred at the Esso garage on Wrexham Road in Rhostyllen, Wrexham, at 00:20 BST on Sunday.
North Wales Police said the robbers fled with cash and tobacco.
Detective Inspector Chris Owen stated that detectives were following “good lines of inquiry,” adding that there was not believed to be any wider threat to the community, with such incidents being rare in the area.
