SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is calling on his constituents to get together and enjoy a cuppa and a cake to raise money for Tenovus Cancer Care.
Mr Rowlands, a big supporter of cancer charities across North Wales, is supporting the charity which is currently holding its annual ‘Tea for Ten’ campaign.
He said: “As an MS for North Wales I am always happy to support any fundraising campaigns which help to highlight the work of a charity.
“I am now calling on my constituents to get together and show their support by taking part in the ‘Tea for Ten’ campaign, by holding coffee mornings, tea parties or cake sales during the campaign which runs from June 1 – August 31.
“It is also great to see that they will have a presence at the popular annual Anglesey Show this year which attracts thousands of visitors from across North Wales and further afield on Tuesday August 13 and Wednesday August 14.
“Volunteers and staff will be on hand to offer help and advice and raise awareness of the services of Tenovus Cancer Care.”
According to the statistics, 1 in 10 Cancer patients seek advice from a mental health professional and if you have cancer or you are close to someone who has, then Tenovus Cancer Care can help. It runs a free Cancer Callback service, for those diagnosed with cancer to seek support as they go through treatment, with the phone support coming from a dedicated nurse.
The organisation brings treatment, emotional support and practical advice to where it matters the most, the heart of the community.
