TWO AUTO WINDSCREENS technicians from Wales have made it to the final of the company’s annual ‘Clearly the Best’ contest. They are Anthony Williams from Port Talbot and Pete Rose from Swansea, who both work from the Swansea service centre in St. Davids Industrial Estate.
They saw off competition from 17 other technicians to secure a spot in the grand final at Auto Windscreens’ Training Centre in Chesterfield on 4 September, where one of four will be crowned the champion.
The regional heats took place in June and July at Auto Windscreens’ service centres around the UK. With a combined 39 years’ experience between them, Anthony and Pete will be assessed on their key skills required for their roles, including technical knowledge, customer service, health and safety, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration, quality of workmanship and Environmental Social and Governance aspects of the role.
Anthony commented: “I’ve entered Clearly the Best five times, so when I got the news about being a finalist, I was over the moon! I’m really looking forward to the final. I’ve worked hard over the years, and it’s really paid off”.
Pete added: “I’m pretty chuffed to be in the final. It’s the second time I’ve entered, and it just shows I know what I’m doing. I like working under a bit of pressure, so I’m looking forward to the final, which happens to be the same day as my brother’s 40th birthday – there will be a double celebration for my family if I win!”
