SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is calling on Flintshire County Council to review the placement of barriers along the Flintshire Coastal Path.

Mr Rowlands, recently met with David Hughes, Community Organiser for Together Creating Communities, to discuss access to the Coastal Path.

He said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet with David, near Saltney Ferry, and hear all about the organisation’s campaign calling for the immediate removal of discriminatory barriers along the Flintshire Coastal Path and providing access for all.

“I am pleased to support TCC in their campaign and I will be contacting the local authority to raise their concerns.”

Mr Hughes said that TCC is urgently calling for the removal of all barriers along the Wales Coastal Path which are managed by Flintshire Council.

They are collaborating with Cycling UK, The FDF Centre for Independent Living, Sustrans Cymru, Disabled Ramblers UK, Wheelchair for Wellbeing, and Chester Wheelers in this campaign – actively listening to people with lived experiences on the impact of barriers on the coastal path within Flintshire.
