First aid charity’s Carmarthen Division to hold series of community events

OVER THE NEXT few weeks St John Ambulance Cymru’s Carmarthen Division will be holding a series of events to support local people and help raise funds to carry on its work in the community.

Yesterday, 26th October, saw the first Winter Warm Hub of the year held from 9am-4pm at the Division’s recently renovated building, which is located on Barn Road, at the top of the John Street Car Park.

There was a free breakfast, homemade soup and traditional puddings for lunch, as well as hot and cold drinks throughout. People were also able to take part in free activities and swamp unwanted items at free book and warm clothing exchanges.

This followed on from the successful series of Breakfast Hub’s run by the Division during the summer holidays that served hundreds of people on weekends and special events.

There will also be a chance to come together at the building following the Remembrance Day Parade in Carmarthen on Sunday 10th November from 12pm-4pm. As well as giving people a chance to warm up with free refreshments, there will also be a quiet room for those who wish to have a moment of reflection.

There will be further Winter Warm Hubs over the coming months with further dates to be confirmed soon. For more information contact Sion Llewellyn-Betts: [email protected].
