AFTER addressing local farmers at a rally at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells organised by NFU Cymru, local Liberal Democrat MP for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe David Chadwick said: “The strength of the turnout we have seen here today only goes to show just how deep and damaging Labour’s proposals would be to the rural economy.
“Their proposals will not only hurt farmers, but will devastate the wider supply chains throughout rural Britain that provide so much employment for our local communities.
“Labour talk about growth, but their plans would cause major contractions across rural Wales and the UK. Rural Labour MPs now need to do the right thing and tell Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves to back down and see common sense.
“The Welsh Liberal Democrats will continue to fight these proposals every step of the way.”
