THREE “treehouse” lodges could replace static caravans at a caravan park.
Jonathan Seldon of Whitehouse Leisure Park Ltd has applied to Conwy’s planning department, seeking permission for the lodges at the park on Towyn Road.
According to the planning application, the lodges will be constructed with dark grey horizontal timber cladding.
The plans include car parking spaces and the creation of a new internal access road to serve the proposed development, as well as a foul and surface water drainage system.
Towyn and Kinmel Bay Town Council don’t object to the proposals.
In a planning statement, the park’s agents said there would not be an increase in accommodation at the site if the plans were granted.
The statement said the more elevated lodges would also help negate a risk from flooding in the area if seawater breached and overtopped sea defences.
“The designs are incredible,” said Mr Jonathan Seldon, speaking in February.
“We are hopeful, subject to planning permission, this will be a high-quality, unique addition to Whitehouse Leisure Park.
“They are very high-spec and luxurious. They are amazing sustainable structures suitable for families. Along with our ‘Wow Lodge’, which will soon be launched, they will feature a private swimming pool. They will attract more holiday guests to the resort, giving them something a little different.”
The plans will likely be discussed at a future Conwy planning committee meeting.
