PLAS Y DDERWEN Care Home in Johnstown, Carmarthen proudly presented a cheque for £2,500 to Redberth Croft CIC, supporting the development of an accessible market garden designed to benefit veterans, individuals with additional learning needs (ALN), and other vulnerable groups across Pembrokeshire and West Wales.
Founded in 2019 and formally established in 2024, Redberth Croft CIC operates as a community interest company focused on improving mental and physical well-being, fostering social connection, and enhancing employability through nature-based and skill-building activities on their community farm.
The grant was awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a national charity that provides funding to projects across England, Scotland, and Wales that help older people and adults with disabilities or mental health challenges reconnect with their local communities.
To celebrate the occasion, Plas Y Dderwen hosted a small gathering where Daisy Coleman, founder of Redberth Croft CIC, and her colleague Samantha, were welcomed to receive the cheque in person.
Daisy said: “We’re truly overwhelmed by the generous support from the Barchester Charitable Foundation.
“This funding means the world to us. It will help bring our dream of a community garden to life—a space for connection, healing, and growth. From all of us at Redberth Croft, thank you for believing in what we’re building.”
