Man arrested after van crashes into shop in Ystradgynlais

A MAN has been arrested following a dramatic road traffic collision in Ystradgynlais town centre on Tuesday evening (June 17).

The incident occurred just before 8:00pm, when a white van crashed into a shop front on Brecon Road. According to Dyfed-Powys Police, the driver fled the scene on foot but was later located and arrested by officers.

The 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, driving while unfit through drugs, driving without insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He remains in police custody.

Officers have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
