THE MUDIAD MEITHRIN Awards Ceremony will be held at 14.00 pm, Saturday, October 18 at
Y Sgubor (Bargoed Farm) Aberaeron where over 200 people are expected to join in the celebrations.
The ceremony will celebrate and recognise all the excellent work at Mudiad Meithrin’s Welsh-medium playgroups and day nurseries across Wales, with Iola Wyn to present the awards ceremony in a slick and professional manner.
Leanne Marsh, Head of Services Development for Mudiad Meithrin said: “Our Awards Ceremony is a wonderful way to raise the profile of the workforce and early years settings over the past year and shows how important this service is to the local community and to the whole economy.
“We received over 700 nominations this year, the highest number ever since the Awards were first held 8 years ago, and it’s a lovely way for the staff and volunteers to be recognised by being nominated by the parents of the children in their care.
“We wish to thank Howden Insurance for sponsoring the wine reception for the Ceremony and Addysg Oedolion Cymru for sponsoring the awards.”
Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Mudiad Meithrin’s Chief Executive, said: “The Awards Ceremony gives Mudiad Meithrin an opportunity to recognise and thank the staff and volunteers at grassroots level.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the good practice that is happening across Wales, whilst also broadcasting the ceremony live online as well. We’re very grateful to all our sponsors for their generous support.”
Raising the profile of the early years workforce in Wales is key to attracting and recruiting more workers into the childcare sector – especially through the medium of Welsh – and to show a wider audience the benefits of working in a sector that makes a positive difference to the lives of young children in Wales. Everyone will be able to follow the ceremony live via Mudiad Meithrin’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
