PRIZES for the Maldwyn Meirionnydd National Eisteddfod are now officially available, offering hundreds of opportunities to support the festival, held on the banks of the River Dyfi in Cemaes, near Glantwymyn, from July 31 to August 7 next year.
The Eisteddfod prizes scheme is a simple and meaningful way for individuals, families, and organisations to support the festival, while ensuring their contributions are formally recognised.
Prizes are available across a wide range of disciplines, including poetry, prose, music and science. Contributions range from small donations to larger prizes tied to key ceremonies. Donating a prize is an effective way to support the event financially, with all contributions forming part of local fundraising efforts and appeal committees.
Aled Griffiths, Chair of the Executive Committee, said: “We’re keen to reach people across Wales and beyond to encourage their support for the Maldwyn Meirionnydd National Eisteddfod.
“While we expect strong interest locally, we also know that families and organisations throughout the country often see sponsoring an Eisteddfod prize as a meaningful way to remember loved ones and pay tribute to those who have contributed so much to promoting Welsh culture over the years.
“We greatly appreciate all the support we receive, and every penny raised will help ensure the success of next year’s Eisteddfod.”
The process for donating a prize is straightforward. Visit 2027 prizes | Eisteddfod and follow the instructions online. Payments can be made by card or bank transfer. All proceeds go directly to the Maldwyn Meirionnydd Eisteddfod local fund, with supporters able to choose whether to contribute to a specific local committee or the central local fund.
Details of all prize donors will be published in the official programme, due for release early July next year. Donors will also be acknowledged during prize presentations at the festival, as well as on the Eisteddfod’s official website and app.
