ANNABEL CROFT, the former British number one tennis prodigy turned leading sports broadcaster, is heading to Wrexham later this year for a one-off in conversation event at the Grove Park Theatre on Wednesday, October 21.
It will take place during tournament week of the Lexus Wrexham Open, the prestigious ITF World Tennis Tour event which will be played at Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre.
At just 15 years old, Annabel became the youngest Briton in nearly a century to compete in the Wimbledon main draw. A Wimbledon and Australian Open junior champion and former world number 24 in the main women’s tour, she went on to enjoy a successful international tennis career before retiring from the sport at the age of 21.
Annabel transitioned seamlessly into broadcasting, becoming one of the most recognisable and respected voices in tennis. Over the past three decades, she has covered the global tennis tour extensively, bringing her expert insight and analysis to audiences around the world, including to all four Grand Slam tournaments.
Annabel said: “I’m really looking forward to my visit to Wrexham during the Lexus Wrexham Open in October. I thoroughly enjoyed my theatre tour last year, so it will be lovely to be back on stage sharing stories from my career.”
