LEADERS and senior representatives from all seven Welsh local health boards will face questions from the Welsh Affairs Committee on the challenges of delivering cross-border healthcare.
In Wales, local health boards are responsible for delivering NHS services in their areas and managing their allocation of the Welsh budget.
With more than 30,000 Welsh residents on Referral to Treatment waiting lists in England in March 2025, the committee is likely to ask about the process of referring someone across the border and what improvements can be made for patients.
MPs may also ask how the boards are tackling treatment waiting lists and delays.
The committee is also likely to question the local health boards’ view on the abolition of NHS England and its potential impact on cross-border healthcare.
The Evidence Session for Cross-border healthcare arrangements between England and Wales will take place tomorrow (June 23) at 2:30pm at Committee Room 6, Palace of Westminster. Click here to Watch live on Parliamentlive.tv.
