MAJOR INCIDENT STOOD DOWN AFTER EMERGENCY RESPONSE
A MAJOR incident was declared after a bus overturned near Kidwelly, leaving six people needing hospital treatment.
Emergency services were called to the A484 near the Parc y Bocs roundabout at around 12:20pm on Tuesday (Jun 23), following reports of a collision involving a bus.
Dyfed-Powys Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service all attended the scene, along with other emergency responders.
Images from the scene showed the bus lying on its side in a field close to the road, with emergency crews and members of the public nearby.
All passengers were safely removed from the vehicle and assessed by emergency services.
Police later confirmed that thirteen casualties were assessed and discharged at the scene, while a further six people were taken to hospital for further medical attention.
No injuries were believed to be life-threatening at the scene of the collision.

Rest centre opened
Welfare arrangements were put in place at the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly, where those affected were able to seek comfort and safety following the incident.
Police later confirmed that all individuals who had attended the centre had since left.
The A484 was closed between the Parc y Bocs roundabout and Llandyfaelog while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Although the major incident has now been stood down, the road remains closed while collision investigators carry out their enquiries.
Public thanked
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “The major incident at Kidwelly has now been stood down.
“Dyfed-Powys Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and Mid and West Wales Fire Rescue Service responded to reports of a collision involving a bus on the A484 at around 12.20pm, today.
“Thirteen casualties were assessed and discharged at the scene, and a further six individuals were taken to hospital for further medical attention.
“No injuries were believed to be life threatening at the scene of the collision.
“Welfare arrangements were provided at the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly. All individuals who sought comfort and safety at the centre have now left.
“The road will remain closed for collision investigators to carry out their enquiries.
“We would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience while emergency services worked together at the scene. We would also like to thank the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly for their support.”
Motorists were urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes while the road closure remained in place.
