A CHARITY office could be converted into a new dental surgery.
Ravi Singh has applied to Conwy County Council, seeking to convert the Red Cross House office at North Wales Business Park, Cae Eithin, Abergele.
The applicant wants planning permission for a change of use of the property from office use to dental use.
The 344 square metre office is currently being vacated but is occupied on a “skeleton staff” of four existing employees.
If the plans get the go-ahead, the dentist will create 10 full-time and eight part-time roles equivalent to 16 full-time jobs.

Conwy County Council’s economic development officers wrote in support of the application.
A letter of support stated: “Economic Development supports the proposal in principle, noting the benefits of job creation, service provision, and productive reuse of a commercial unit.
“However, we would request that the Planning department consider: The availability and demand for office (B1) space within the business park and wider area. Whether the proposal would lead to an unacceptable loss of employment land.”
The letter added: “Subject to no significant harm to the employment land portfolio, this application is supported.” According to the planning application, neighbours are yet to be consulted about the proposals, but the plans will likely be debated at a future Conwy County Council planning committee meeting at the authority’s Coed Pella HQ in Colwyn Bay.
