A JET washing station at the Tesco Extra in Risca has been given the green light by council planners.
The supermarket giant applied to install the new equipment to the northeast of the store, containing self-service jet washers, air and screen wash, and vacuum cleaners.
According to the firm, the location of the jet wash station would be “away from areas designated as high-use car parking” and would be monitored by CCTV.
In a new report, Caerphilly County Borough Council planning officers said they had received no public objections to the proposals, which were first submitted last August.
They said the jet wash station would be located away from most nearby homes, but suggested limiting its operational hours.
The officers granted planning permission subject to several conditions, including that the new venture can only open between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday, and between 8am and 6pm on Sundays.
