Reserves smash ten past Llandeilo

WITH Ammanford’s first team on a run of five consecutive wins in the JD Cymru South League, it was the turn of Ammanford Reserves to mirror the form book on Saturday (Sept 28).

In fact the Reserves romped to a 10-1 win over local rivals Llandeilo in a highly entertaining game at the Recreation Ground.

The game couldn’t have started any better for the home team as striker Ricky Martin struck a rasping shot from outside the box into the Llandeilo net with only two minutes played. This set the tone and pace for the rest of the game.

After ten minutes it was all Ammanford as they raced into a 3-0 lead.

Llandeilo tried to play their way back into the game but soon found themselves 4-0 down.

Llandeilo’s Owen James did pull a goal back to make it 4-1, but this seemed to spur the home side on again and Ammanford scored again to make it 5-1 at half time.

Things didn’t improve for Llandeilo as Ammanford scored another five second half goals without reply to secure this emphatic win.

Ammanford AFC Reserves Manager Christian Lloyd was full of praise for his team and said: “some of our football was fantastic today” he added “It’s the biggest win since I have been in charge!”

Man of the Match was Ammanford’s Ricky Martin who helped himself to four of the ten goals.

For the record the other Ammanford goal scorers were:- Aaron Butler with a brace, Ben Edwards, Nathan Jones, Alex Arnold and Tim Chapman.

It certainly was a ten out of ten performance for Ammanford AFC Reserves.
