A LATE penalty gave Newcastle Emlyn victory by just a single point in a thrilling game against Crymych on Saturday (Jan 29).
Crymych trailed 10-15 at the break and Emlyn extended their lead to 10-25 in the second half.
The hosts stormed back though and with five minutes to go they were 27-25 in front.
Emlyn had one final chance and a penalty from Shaun Leonard with just a minute to go was enough to give them victory.
Leon Samuel had earlier scored a hat trick of tries for Emlym with others coming from Leonard and Ellis Rees-Lewis. Leonard added the rest of the points from the boot.

Crymych had a try from Tomos Lewis and Osian Hill and they were also awarded a penalty try.
Hill also added two penalties and two conversions but it was Emlyn who celebrated their fifth win in a row in the league.
Crymych pick up a losing bonus point for their efforts and they now sit fifth in the League 1 West table.
Crymych are next in action on Saturday, February 19, when they travel to Llanelli Wanderers while Newcastle Emlyn’s next game is scheduled for March 5.
