Community rallies to save New Quay car park after housing association plans to remove 200 spaces

BARCUD Housing Association, a publicly funded Community Benefit Society, bought Central Car Park and submitted plans that would have removed over 200 spaces, around a third of New Quay’s total parking.

Councillors refused the application after public backlash. Barcud has now appealed, and the community is seeking “Rule 6” status in the appeal, which allows them to be a formal party, instruct their own lawyers and submit full evidence.

This fundraiser aims to raise an initial £5,000. Any funds beyond that will go directly towards continuing the case.
