Convicted stalker caught snooping at victim’s home despite court ban

A 72-YEAR-OLD convicted stalker has re-appeared before a district judge after being found snooping around his victim’s property despite being prohibited by the courts from entering her street.

Clive Dicks was convicted in October 2024 of stalking the woman and sending her unwanted messages.  A restraining order was imposed, preventing him from contacting her and from entering the street where she lives.

But on April 8 Dicks was spotted by the victim’s neighbour wandering around her property  in Mill Street, Ponthrydfendigaid.

“He’s been a hindrance to me for many years,” the woman told Haverfordwest court  in a victim impact statement.  “I thought the order would protect me, but he has no respect for the conditions put in place.”

This week Dicks, of Ystafell Wen, Pontrhydfendigaid  was brought before District Judge Mark Layton after being remanded in custody.  He  pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order.

“You’ve gone to her street yet again, but she doesn’t want you anywhere near her house,” Judge Layton told  Dicks when passing sentence.

“If a court makes an order, then they want you to comply with it.  I can assure you if you breach this order by contacting her or going to her street again, I’m going to send you to prison.  That is a cert.”

Dicks was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody suspended for 12 months.  He was ordered to pay a £154 court surcharge and £85 costs.
