THEATR MWLDAN’S spring programme just keeps delivering – here’s what’s happening at there towards the end of March.

Returning to the theatre on March 22 with two dazzling performances, Dynamix Performing Arts School has something to celebrate. 2026 marks the school’s 15-year anniversary, and they will proudly take the audience on a tour of magical performances from years gone by.

Theatr Mwldan Film Society’s next screening will be the multi-Oscar nominated film The Secret Agent (15) on March 22. With multiple awards already under its belt, Kleber Mendonça Filho’s fantastic film deserves every bit of praise it receives.

Rosie Holt is back! On March 28 she will bring her sharp, satirical brand of comedy to our venue with her alter ego MP and other characters, to tackle the new political world under Labour. But everything is fine now, right? 

The evening will feature an extra serving of satire thanks to a support slot from comedian, writer and west Wales resident Henry Morris (The Diary of a Secret Tory MP). 

Lastly, embark on a thrilling adventure with Siegfried (15 As Live), an opera about a young man who knows no fear, armed only with his sword Notung. This stunning and ambitious production from the Royal Opera will stream live March 31.

Since opening in 2011 Dynamix Performing Arts School have showcased hit musicals such as Grease, Oliver, High School Musical, Fame and many more. Here they present some of the most memorable moments from the years including awesome ensembles, stunning solos, dynamic dances and awesome acting. 

Performed by their current students ages 3-18 and featuring some of their returning students, many of whom have gone on to work in the performing arts. Dynamix Performing Arts School has developed a reputation as one of the leading youth performing arts institutions in West Wales.

Set in Brazil, 1977, during the height of the military dictatorship, we meet Marcelo, a technology expert in his early 40s, and a man on the run. Driven by the desperate hope of reuniting with his son, he journeys to Recife. However, the vibrant city quickly reveals itself to be a dangerous illusion, offering no true refuge. 

This gripping neo-noir drama and political thriller earned director Mendonça Filho the prestigious Best Director Award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where lead actor Wagner Moura also claimed the Best Actor prize.

On March 28 at 8.00pm, Comedian and satirist, Rosie Holt, whose videos on social media have achieved more than 7 million views, she is the winner of the Chortle Social Media Award and a nominee for the BPG Emerging Creators Award. Join Rosie for a preview of her new show.

Siegfried, a production from the Royal Opera, will be streamed live at Mwldan on March 31 at 5.15pm (running time is approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes).

Raised by a scheming dwarf and unaware of his true family origins, destiny brings him face-to-face with a shattered sword, a fearsome dragon and the cursed ring it guards, and a Valkyrie forced into enchanted slumber…

Moments of transcendent beauty and heroic triumph sparkle in the third chapter of Wagner’s Ring cycle, brought to life under Barrie Kosky’s inspired eye following his spectacular Das Rheingold (2023) and Die Walküre (2025). Andreas Schager, in his much-anticipated debut with The Royal Opera, stars as Siegfried’s titular hero, alongside Christopher Maltman’s towering Wanderer, Peter Hoare’s treacherous Mime and Elisabet Strid’s radiant Brünnhilde. Antonio Pappano conducts, drawing out the unspoken tensions and ethereal mysticism of Wagner’s dynamic score.
