THE POLICE have arrested a man after reports of a male walking along the footpath with a firearm.
Locals in Llanfarian reported a large police presence this morning (Apr 18) at the Hand Car Wash following the incident.
Several people said they had seen a number of armed police officers at the scene at approximately 10.30am.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed: “Officers responded to reports of a man in possession of a firearm on a footpath between Llanfarian and Rhydfelin, near Aberystwyth at 8am.
“Following enquiries a male has been arrested and a firearm recovered from a nearby property. He remains in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing.”
