Popular Mid Wales attraction welcomes visitors back with new additions and experiences
AN AWARD-WINING visitor attraction in Mid Wales is preparing to reopen its doors this week following its annual winter closure.
Corris Caverns will welcome visitors back from Wednesday, offering a wide range of above and below ground experiences for all ages.
Located near Machynlleth, the site features a variety of attractions including King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Corris Mine Explorers, the Welsh Legends Maze and the Corris Craft Centre.
While the craft centre’s nine workshops will fully reopen on April 1, several will be open to visitors from March 25. The workshops are home to a range of craftspeople, artists and designers.
Among the returning businesses is Spellbound Herbals, offering handmade lotions and remedies, while a new addition, Crafty Gamer, will cater for fans of tabletop and role-playing games.

One of the site’s most prominent attractions, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, takes visitors on an underground storytelling journey deep beneath the mountains of Southern Eryri.
The experience begins with a boat ride guided by a mysterious boatman, travelling through dark caverns and past an underground waterfall before continuing on foot through tunnels and vast chambers. Along the way, visitors encounter tales of dragons, giants, epic battles and the legendary King Arthur, brought to life through light and sound.
To mark the new season, the attraction has also launched a new website designed by Jack Iffla.
Visitors can also explore the underground world of a historic slate mine with Corris Mine Explorers, where guided tours take guests through winding tunnels and vast chambers steeped in industrial heritage.
Above ground, the Welsh Legends Maze brings stories from The Mabinogion to life. The maze was designed by Steph Pasiewicz, whose previous work includes the London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony and Frankenweenie.
For refreshments, The Corris Café will be open daily from 10am to 5pm, serving food made with locally sourced ingredients, while the Welsh Deli offers a selection of regional produce. An outdoor play area is also available for younger visitors.
The attraction is well suited to group visits, with free parking and a dedicated coach drop-off point available on site.
