Officers are investigating a series of attempted thefts and break-ins at Powys hospitals

DYFED-POWYS Police is taking a robust approach to prevent further attempts to break into medical gas storage areas in Powys.

Officers are investigating a series of attempted thefts and break-ins at hospitals in the Welshpool and Knighton areas over the weekend of Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7.

PC Strong said: “I ask that anyone with any information contacts the police urgently.

“Depriving a hospital of this vital painkiller could have led to cancelled appointments and disruption to services.

“Whilst the thieves have been unsuccessful on this occasion, security measures have been increased at all hospitals throughout Powys and local residents will be on the lookout.”
