RNLI launches recruitment drive for face-to-face fundraisers across Wales

Lifesaving charity offering flexible roles in coastal locations including Pembrokeshire

THE ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION (RNLI) is calling on people across Wales to apply for paid face-to-face fundraising roles as it gears up for the busy summer season.

Applications are now open for fundraisers who will help the charity share vital water safety advice with beachgoers and visitors at some of the country’s most popular coastal locations and events.

The RNLI says the roles are crucial in helping to secure ongoing support for its lifesaving work, encouraging members of the public to sign up as supporters and make donations.

Successful applicants will work in locations across Wales, including along the Pembrokeshire coastline, with flexible part-time, full-time, seasonal and year-round opportunities available. The charity is looking to recruit around 160 face-to-face fundraisers this year.

Fundraisers will receive full training, competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to develop professional and personal skills while working outdoors in high-profile coastal areas.

Effie Cawley, Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager at the RNLI, said: “Being a face-to-face fundraiser is a rewarding role; it is vital in helping to raise funds to support the RNLI’s lifesaving work and in delivering important water safety advice to those visiting the coast.

“If you’re friendly, approachable and interested in helping to share safety advice with thousands of beach visitors, it could be just the role for you.

“Face-to-face fundraising jobs are very flexible and offer the chance to work in some stunning coastal locations. I’d encourage anyone, no matter what career you are considering, to take up the challenge and apply for a role today.”

The RNLI operates more than 238 lifeboat stations across the UK and Ireland and, in a typical year, more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.

Independent of government and the Coastguard, the charity relies on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its 24-hour search and rescue service. Since its foundation in 1824, RNLI lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved more than 146,700 lives.
