RACE COUNCIL Cymru is thrilled to introduce the Ethnic Minority Veteran Support Network Project, a groundbreaking initiative designed to serve and uplift servicemen and women from Ethnic Minority backgrounds who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. The project aims to provide a platform for veterans to share their stories, experiences, and challenges, while offering the support they need to thrive.
The Ethnic Minority Veteran Support Network is committed to building a strong, supportive community that acknowledges the unique experiences of ethnic minority veterans. They recognise that these men and women often face specific challenges, including underrepresentation, cultural barriers, and difficulties in accessing support. Through this project, they seek to ensure that their voices are heard and that they receive the support they deserve.
The initiative will create spaces for veterans to connect, share their journeys, and provide peer-to-peer support. Additionally, the network will offer resources such as mental health services, career guidance, and social services, tailored to meet the needs of veterans from Ethnic Minority backgrounds.
A spokesperson for the Royal British legion said: “The Royal British Legion is proud to be supporting the launch of the Ethnic Minority Veteran Support Network Project. This important initiative will ensure that veterans from under-represented backgrounds are guided to the resources they need, recognising the unique barriers they may face in accessing vital support.”
The Ethnic Minority Veteran Support Network encourages all Ethnic Minority veterans to reach out, whether they are looking for support, guidance, or simply a space to share their stories. Those interested in learning more or becoming involved in the network can contact them directly at [email protected]
Servicemen and women from all Ethnic backgrounds who have served or are currently serving are invited to join the network, share their experiences, and access the support they need.
