A BODY has been found following a fire involving several vehicles in Porthcawl during the early hours of Thursday (Aug 28).
South Wales Police said officers were called at 2:50am after fire crews reported a blaze on Mackworth Road.
Once the fire was brought under control, emergency services discovered a body inside one of the vehicles.
Formal identification has not yet taken place and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
A cordon remains in place between Bungalow Avenue and the lower end of Mackworth Road by the beach. Pedestrian access is also closed from the Hi Tide complex to Coney Beach amusement park.
Police confirmed that inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
