SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is urging constituents to once again support this important event in the city.
Mr Rowlands, a keen supporter of the services, is delighted to see the Armed Forces Community Carol Service being held in Wrexham for the third year running.
He said: “I am always happy to promote any events which honour our armed forces and pleased to see this special community carol service being held in Wrexham once again.
“As Christmas is almost upon us it is a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together and show our support for the work they carry out.
“These days more than ever we rely on these brave men and women not only to defend our country but they can also be sent all over the world to help in war torn countries.
“I would urge anyone wanting to join the celebration to attend.”
The free event will take place at St Giles Church Thursday, December 4 starting at 7pm and everyone is welcome.
Councillor Beverley Parry Jones, Wrexham Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “Once again, Wrexham is promised a lovely evening full of Christmas spirit and music.
“Wrexham has such strong links with the armed forces, and we want to do something special to both celebrate Christmas and pay tribute. Let’s celebrate the season and show our support for those who serve and have served.
“We’d love to see as many veterans and members of the public as possible so please come along and help make this a fantastic evening.”
The service will feature music from the City of Wrexham Brass Band and there will also be performances by local school choirs and a parade of standards by local veterans’ associations.
Once again this special evening will be held in support of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity dedicated to bereaved British Forces children and young people. It promises to be a heartwarming celebration of community, remembrance, and festive spirit.
