A man has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after a gas explosion on a boat in north Wales. Emergency services were called to the incident at Porth Penrhyn, Bangor, in the early afternoon on Saturday, July 13.
A fire service spokesperson said that a call was received about a boat fire at 1.37pm and four fire engines sent to the scene.
Police have now confirmed that both emergency services remain at the scene with investigations ongoing.
A North Wales Police spokesperson told Herald.Wales: “A man has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries following an incident at Porth Penrhyn, Bangor.
“Emergency services were called to the marina shortly before 2pm today, to tackle a fire caused by a gas explosion on a boat.
“A man was subsequently taken to hospital with life threatening injuries by air ambulance.”
They added: “Police and Fire Service remain at the location whilst our investigations are ongoing.
“Thank you to residents for their ongoing support and patience whilst we are in attendance.”
