Murder investigation launched following disappearance of Paria Veisi

A MURDER investigation has been launched by South Wales Police following the disappearance of Paria Veisi, who has not been seen since Saturday (April 12).

Paria, who is believed to be in her thirties, was last seen leaving her place of work in Canton at around 3:00pm, driving her black Mercedes GLC 200. The vehicle was located on Tuesday evening (April 15) in Dorchester Avenue, Penylan.

A 41-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, who are both known to Paria, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “I can confirm that the investigation into the disappearance of Paria Veisi is now being treated as a murder investigation. I currently have no proof that Paria is alive.

“Her family and friends are extremely concerned that they have not heard from her, which is totally out of character. Paria’s family have been informed and we are keeping them updated.

“We have two people in custody and, at this stage, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with this investigation.

“Our focus remains on tracing Paria’s movements after she left work in the Canton area on Saturday afternoon. Extensive CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out by a team of officers, and I would appeal to anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to get in touch.”

Paria is described as having long, curly black hair. She was last seen wearing a black zip-up gym top over a red top, black trousers, and trainers. She was carrying a small handbag.
