Applications now open for charities helping underrepresented communities enter creative sectors
AMAZON has launched a new funding programme offering grants of up to £30,000 to support charities in Cardiff and across the UK that help people access careers in the creative industries. The Regional Creatives Fund is open for applications until 31 August 2025.
The scheme is designed to support organisations already running impactful programmes in sectors such as gaming, music, publishing, TV, fashion, advertising, and film. Larger consortium bids can apply for up to £100,000.
The fund is aimed specifically at charities working with underrepresented groups, including those from ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled and neurodivergent people, and individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

In addition to financial support, successful applicants will receive pro bono help from creative professionals at Amazon Music, Prime Video, Amazon Games, and others. This includes mentoring, work placements, and digital training opportunities.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy welcomed the initiative, saying: “I want every young person to have the opportunity to build a successful career within the creative industries… this new fund will help support growth in these fast-growing sectors by preparing the next generation of creatives to tell our national story on the world stage.”
Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, added: “For too long, access to careers in this sector has been limited by social and economic barriers. Amazon’s Regional Creatives Fund is exactly the kind of initiative we need.”
The grants will be awarded by an independent panel including representatives from Amazon, the National Theatre, Help Musicians, and other sector leaders.
Applicants must be UK-registered charities with an annual income below £5 million and already running creative upskilling programmes. Full criteria and application details are available at:
