Paul Mullin secures season-long loan move to Wigan Athletic

Wrexham AFC have confirmed that striker Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season, subject to final clearance.

The 29-year-old forward, who has been a central figure at the Racecourse Ground since signing in 2021, will link up with the League One side as they prepare for the upcoming Sky Bet campaign. Mullin returns to regular action after a challenging season marked by his recovery from back surgery, which limited his time on the pitch.

Despite the setback, Mullin featured 32 times across all competitions last term, netting five goals—three of which came in the league—as Wrexham celebrated a historic third consecutive promotion. However, he started just nine league matches, with a further 17 appearances coming from the bench.

Prior to his injury, Mullin had established himself as a talisman for the Red Dragons. He was the club’s top scorer and Player of the Season for three years running and has notched an impressive 110 goals in 172 appearances for the club.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson praised Mullin’s contributions and welcomed the move, saying:
“I’d like to wish Paul all the best for his loan move. It’s a good opportunity for him to get back to playing regular first-team football and I’m sure he’s going to be a great signing for Wigan Athletic.”

Everyone at Wrexham AFC extends their best wishes to Paul and to Wigan Athletic for the season ahead.
