ST ISHMAELS seconds won the Division 4 Cup on Friday night (May 13) as they beat St Florence on penalties.
St Florence were looking to make it a double-winning season after winning the Division 4 title and they even had a good luck message from former Premier League star Jimmy Bullard.
However, Tish had other ideas and after a goalless 120 minutes, they held their nerve to seal the win.
The two sides had drawn 2-2 in St Ishmaels while St Florence won 4-0 in the other fixture but it was a much tighter affair this time around.
On Friday, Tish had a couple of early chances to score with Marc Devonald seeing a header go wide.
Adam Davies also went through on goal but he couldn’t find the back of the net.
There was also a chance for St Florence in the second half but a headed effort went over the bar.
In extra time, Devonald had another chance for Tish but he headed just wide from a corner.
It meant penalties would be needed to separate the two sides and after a tense shootout it was Tish who won 5-4 on penalties.
Tish keeper Andy Pawlett made the vital save to spark scenes of celebrations amongst the players.
