Young man rescued from deep hole on Llandudno Beach

ON SUNDAY evening, emergency services were dispatched to assist a young man who had injured himself on the beach near the old lifeboat slipway.

The casualty was found in a large and deep hole that had been dug in the sand.

Upon arrival, responders conducted a thorough assessment and determined that the young man had sustained a back injury.

Emergency personnel stabilized his condition and carefully transferred him onto a rigid stretcher to prevent further injury while moving him off the beach.

The Merrion Hotel in Llandudno graciously provided a space for the casualty to be made comfortable until an ambulance arrived. The young man was then transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of digging holes in the sand, which can be very unstable. Beachgoers are urged to fill in any holes they dig to prevent similar accidents.

For any emergencies or distress situations around the coast, please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
