RSPB Ynys-hir, Eglwys-fach, Powys:

Located within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere, spring at RSPB Ynys-hir is a sensory delight – think birdsong, fresh country air and fields of bluebells under a canopy of trees.

This nature reserve is also a prime spot for birdwatching, with Pied Flycatchers and Redstarts among the seasonal visitors. For an even closer look at the wildlife, binoculars and pond dipping kits are available to hire.

Whether you’re here for a peaceful walk or an impromptu photoshoot, this nature haven won’t disappoint. It’s also a great place to experience the best of nature’s music festival and celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day on Sunday, May 4.

Ynys-hir is the ideal place for a picnic or you can relax in the cosy visitor hub with coffee and cake. From April 1, both the reserve and visitor facilities will be open from Wednesday to Sundays, only and closed Monday and Tuesday.

From April to October, the Visitor Centre opens from 10am-4pm form Wednesday to Sunday. Reserve and trails are open from April to October dawn to dusk from Wednesday to Sunday. Entry is free for RSPB members.
