BHS on Guildhall Square is set to close tomorrow (Jul 30) as the Carmarthen branch are among thousands of employees who are losing their jobs.
In total, more than 11,000 people are set to lose their jobs as the remaining 114 stores shut down across the UK.
The troubled retail giant entered into administration in April, when it had 164 stores around the country. A buyer for the chain could not be found and last week a reporting into Sir Philip Green and the management team highlighted the serious flaws which lead to the store’s downfall.
Sir Philip Green was described as the “unacceptable face of capitalism” and was blasted by MPs who said he had let his work force down.
BHS has been a staple of Guildhall Square since replacing Littlewoods and no information has been provided on a possible new store to go in its place.
