Boy, 16, in custody for alleged wounding with intent following Haverfordwest incident

POLICE in Haverfordwest have confirmed that they have arrested a 16-year-old youth for alleged wounding with intent.

The arrest follows an altercation in a residential property in High Street on Sunday. Police were called at 2.45pm after reports that a second youth had sustained a leg wound.

The large number of emergency vehicles responding meant that High Street was closed off to traffic for a time.

Police said on Monday: “We were called to an ongoing altercation at a property in High Street, Haverfordwest, at around 2.45pm on Sunday (24 July).

“One youth suffered a leg wound during the incident, with a 16-year-old male arrested on suspicion on wounding with intent.

“He remains in police custody.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.45pm yesterday, Sunday 24 July, to an incident on High Street in Haverfordwest.

“We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and two emergency ambulances to the scene, but were not required.”

The youths cannot be named for legal reasons.
