ARMED police made an arrest in Carmarthen on Sunday afternoon (Apr 17) after reports that a man had been spotted holding a weapon.
The incident happened shortly after 2pm and a BB-style air weapon was recovered by police.
The man was initially seen in Johnstown near the Tesco store and was later arrested on Coracle Way.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police told the Herald: “Police were called at 2.15pm on Sunday (Apr 17) to a report of a suspicious incident in Coracle Way, Carmarthen. Two members of the public raised concerns after seeing a man in possession of a firearm in a public place.
“Following a police search a 29 year old male from Carmarthen was arrested on suspicion of possession of an air weapon in a public place. He has been released on bail pending further police enquiries. A bb style air weapon has been recovered.”
