A MAN was arrested in Trecwn, Pembrokeshire, on Monday for being over the limit after his vehicle was involved in a collision with a parked car.
The incident, which happened on Barham Road, resulted in the stationary vehicle being shunted several meters until it came to a rest on a grass bank.
The driver seemed uninjured – saved by his airbag – but was slurring his words.
Asked by a bystander for his name, he said: “My name is I am in a lot of trouble.”
The police were subsequently called and he was taken away.
A spokesperson for the force told The Pembrokeshire Herald: “Dyfed-Powys Police attended a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 7.10pm on Monday, March 1, 2022.
“A black Chrysler Voyager collided with a parked vehicle in Trecwn, Haverfordwest.
“The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of a drink-drive offence and was later released under investigation, pending further police enquiries.”
The owner of the parked car said: “I am fine, luckily I was not in the car when it was hit.”
It is likely that both cars will be written off.
An ambulance was called as a precaution.
