TENANT satisfaction in Anglesey Council’s Housing Service continues to rise, with the latest STAR (Survey of Tenants and Residents) showing improvements across several key areas.
More than 1,100 tenants took part in the survey conducted during autumn 2025. The results showed that tenant satisfaction was above the Welsh national local authority averages across all 12 categories.
The STAR survey, carried out every two years, gives tenants the opportunity to share their views on the quality of their homes and the housing services they receive.
Headline findings include:
- 88% of tenants feel satisfied with the safety and security of their home
- 84% are satisfied with the Housing Service
- 83% are satisfied with the quality of their home
- 81% feel their rent offers value for money
- 83% say they trust the Housing Service.
This year’s survey shows a significant rise in satisfaction related to repairs, maintenance, and overall home quality, reflecting improvement work completed since the previous survey.
Managing and preventing anti-social behaviour remains a priority for our Neighbourhood Management Team, helping to ensure the county’s tenants can live peacefully in safe and pleasant homes.
Over the next calendar year, the Council will begin developing our first-ever Good Neighbours Scheme, with valued support from tenant panels. In addition, investment has been made to recruit additional staff to provide greater support.
Following the survey, a dedicated tenant engagement vehicle will bring services directly into the community, creating more opportunities for tenants to get involved. Tenants are also being invited to join panels that help improve services and take part in community activities.
Head of Housing Services, Ned Michael, said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. Feedback from tenants is essential and helps us understand what is working well and where more focus is needed.
“We’re encouraged by the progress reflected in these results, and we remain committed to continually improving our services in line with tenant expectations and our long-term housing strategy.”
Housing and Community Safety Portfolio Holder, Councillor Carwyn Jones, added: “It is very positive to see the tenant satisfaction here on Anglesey above the Welsh national local authority averages across all 12 categories.
”This is down to the commitment and dedication of our housing team all year round working with our tenants. We will continue listening to our residents and working with them as we shape future housing services and investment.”
Anglesey Council remains committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and affordable homes that meet the needs of communities now and in the future, as set out in the Council Plan 2023–2028.
