ANGLESEY County Council is encouraging both residents and visitors to discover the island’s unique beauty this Easter – and to do so with care, respect, and consideration for local communities and the environment.
Teams across the Council have been working closely together to prepare for the busy holiday period, ensuring that everyone can enjoy Anglesey safely and responsibly.
As part of these preparations, beach wardens will be stationed at some of the island’s most popular beaches and slipways throughout the Easter break.
Andy Godber, Anglesey’s Visitor Economy and Coastal Areas Manager, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to the island this Easter. With our fantastic beaches and stunning natural landscapes, it’s no surprise that Anglesey remains a very popular destination.”
He added: “We’re expecting it to be a busy period, and we want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.”
To help make the most of your visit – and to protect what makes Anglesey so special – the Council is encouraging everyone to plan ahead and follow a few simple guidelines:
- Book before you travel – Make sure your accommodation, campsite, or caravan park is confirmed in advance.
- Park responsibly – Use designated car parks and avoid parking on private land or roadside verges.
- Stick to public paths – Keep to public rights of way and bridleways to avoid disturbing local landowners and wildlife.
- Control your dog – Keep dogs on a lead, especially near livestock.
- Be water-wise – Know the weather forecast, prepare thoroughly, and consider your experience and ability if accessing water.
- Register your watercraft – If you’re using a local authority-managed slipway, ensure your boat or jet ski is registered, and always follow marine bylaws and wildlife protection codes.
- Leave no trace – Please take your litter home and dispose of waste responsibly.
Councillor Neville Evans, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Tourism and Maritime, explained: “Easter is a fantastic opportunity for all of us – locals and visitors alike – to discover more of what Anglesey has to offer, and to support our brilliant local businesses.”
He added: “Our Maritime staff are working hard to ensure that our island’s coast remains safe & welcoming for residents and visitors.”
“Their effort over recent weeks includes setting up 8-knot speed limit and swim-safe buoys at several of our most popular beaches ahead of a busy Easter period.
“If you are visiting our unique island this Easter, we ask that you show care and respect – for other people, local communities, and our environment.”
