Plans unveiled for six flats in Old Colwyn

The grassland at Meiriadog Road in Old Colwyn

PLANS have been unveiled for six flats in Old Colwyn.

Huw Tictchiner of 4 Crosses Construction Ltd has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission for the erection of an apartment block on grassland at Meiriadog Road in Old Colwyn.

The plans include six flats, parking, landscaping, and access, as well as a storage area for recycling containers and bins.

The site is described as a “vacant lot” situated “next to 20 Meiriadog Road” in Old Colwyn “east of the Old Colwyn Bowling Club and the adjoining allotment gardens”.

A planning report states: “The site itself is initially on a common level with Meiriagod Road but slopes very steeply down to the lower level where the allotment gardens are located.

“The slope principally comprises made-up ground and rubble and does not appear to be entirely stable in some areas.”

Neighbours are yet to be consulted.

The plans will likely be debated at a future Conwy County Council planning committee meeting at the authority’s Coed Pella HQ.
