A POPULAR Llandudno bar is set to reopen.
Fountains Café Bar was hit with a closure notice earlier this year following a serious assault near the premises.
The premises licence was then surrendered by the previous holder in May 2025.
But Control Leisure Ltd’s designated premises supervisor Aaran Lennox applied for a licence to reopen the café bar on Mostyn Street.
Conwy County Council’s licensing sub-committee met last week to discuss the application.
But during proceedings, North Wales Police submitted an official objection to the application, reminding the committee of “the seriousness of the past incident” before the premises licence was surrendered.
Residents had also complained of disturbance and anti-social behaviour, arguing Upper Mostyn Street was a “residential area”.
But a decision has now been reached by the committee, and whilst the council is yet to reveal the permitted opening hours, the authority said the premises will operate with “reduced” hours.
A spokeswoman for the council said: “The licence has been granted, subject to reduced hours with significant conditions applied by members of the committee, to prevent crime and disorder, public nuisance, and ensure the public safety.”
Conwy said the “significant conditions” were not yet available as the licence had to be issued first, with all parties informed.
The council said all parties have 21 days to appeal the decision.
