Denbigh and District Boxing Club success

TWO YOUNG from Denbigh & District Amateur Boxing Club recently competed in the prestigious Welsh Box Cup 2024, showcasing their talent and determination on a national stage.

The Welsh Box Cup is an annual event organised by the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association. It attracts top amateur boxers from across the country, offering them a platform to demonstrate their skills and compete for national titles. The tournament features multiple weight categories and age groups, making it a diverse and highly competitive event. Winners of the Welsh Box Cup gain significant recognition and often proceed to national and international competitions, making it a crucial stepping stone in their boxing careers.

Jayden Jones, one of their promising young boxers, faced a formidable opponent in his first bout. Despite delivering an excellent performance and displaying remarkable resilience, he did not secure the decision. Jayden’s effort and sportsmanship were commendable, and he gained valuable experience from the competition.

In a series of thrilling matches, Seth Evans, another aspiring talent from our club, emerged as the Welsh Box Cup champion in the 57kg junior category. Seth’s journey to the title was marked by three challenging fights. He secured two victories by unanimous decision and won one fight by stoppage, showcasing his skill and determination. Seth’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.

The Denbigh & District Amateur Boxing Club is immensely proud of both Jayden and Seth for their performances at the Welsh Box Cup 2024. Their achievements highlight the strength and potential of the young athletes and inspire others in the community.

They would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to their sponsors, Jones Brothers, for their ongoing support. Jones Brothers’ contributions have been invaluable to the success.
