A FORMER industrial unit on a Ruthin business park could soon be turned into a gym – if new proposals are approved by Denbighshire County Council.
Applicant Mike Evans has submitted a planning application, seeking to convert Unit 5, Room 3a, Ffordd Celyn, located on the Lon Parcwr Business Park, into a gymnasium and personal training studio.
The unit is currently used for light industrial purposes.
In a planning statement included with the application, the business said: “Dynamic Fitness have been dedicated to fostering healthy lifestyles through fitness and wellness for over three years.
“Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where individuals of all fitness levels can pursue their health goals and enhance their quality of life.
“Our intention in establishing a new gymnasium and PT studio in Ruthin is driven by our commitment to community well-being.
“We have chosen this area because we recognise the community’s growing interest in health and wellness, and the need for accessible, high-quality fitness facilities.”
The statement concludes: “We are excited about the potential to serve and become an integral part of the Ruthin community.
“We believe that our facility will not only enhance the physical health of residents but also serve as a catalyst for social connectivity and community health.”
According to the application, the gym would create one full-time and two part-time jobs.
Neighbours are yet to be consulted.
The planning application is likely to be discussed at a future Denbighshire planning committee meeting at the council’s Ruthin County Hall HQ.
