Sam Rowlands MS welcomes results of a new partnership initiative running in North Wales

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, praises a multi-agency strategy transforming a community in Denbighshire.

Mr Rowlands was commenting on Clear, Hold, Build, a new partnership initiative running in Rhyl.

He said: “I am delighted to hear that this new multi-agency strategy in Rhyl west ward is paying dividends and having positive results.

“It really is great to see North Wales Police their partners and local residents working together to improve the area,  helping to reduce crime and making it safer for everyone.

“It is heartening to hear that this new strategy which was launched in April is working and well done to everyone involved.”

Clear, Hold, Build is a multi-agency strategy to transform the community into a more prosperous area where people would love to live, work and visit and one less susceptible to being exploited by organised crime groups and County Lines.

Within North Wales, the initiative was launched in April this year in Rhyl West ward, one of the most deprived areas in the country, and is a three-phase initiative that uses a combination of targeted high-visibility police operations and covert policing tactics alongside activity and support from partners, and input from residents to protect communities and prevent organised crime groups from operating.

Now, data has been collated which shows #RenewRhyl has led to a 14% drop in recorded crime.  Read more about Clear, Hold, Build on the North Wales Police website.
