FLINTSHIRE County Council is praising the dedication of its Streetscene crews and thanking residents for their support during the recent spell of extreme heat.
Over the last few days, crews have worked tirelessly in searing temperatures, starting early and carrying out physically demanding duties in heavy uniforms to minimise disruption to waste and recycling collections.
Meanwhile residents have gone out of their way to show their appreciation, from offering cold drinks and ice creams, to sharing encouraging words and friendly waves.
Streetscene Service Manager Chris Goddard: said: “I want to pay tribute to our teams who, over the last few days, have shown real commitment in extremely challenging conditions.
“I also want to thank our residents. The community’s kindness has made a real difference to staff working on the frontline. This is Flintshire at its best.
“I would ask everyone to continue looking out for one another, especially older or more vulnerable neighbours. For our part, we will continue ensure our teams are fully supported and able to work safely during times of extreme weather.”
