Sam Rowlands MS highlights event to help protect thefts of motorbikes in North Wales

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is encouraging people to take preventive measure to protect their motorbikes.

Mr Rowlands is backing a call from North Wales Police who are urging the public to mark their motorbikes and mopeds with Smart Water.

He said: “I am always happy to promote any event which encourages us to take preventative measures to protect our belongings from theft and fully support this police initiative.

“It is important to make sure we do everything we can to help reduce crime and I would urge any motorcyclists to meet members of the Wrexham Crime Prevention Team next month and get their bikes marked.”

The Wrexham Crime Prevention Team will be at The Old Stores Motorbike Café, Pontblyddyn, Mold CH7 4HR on Sunday, September 14 from 9am till 12pm where they will be giving out free Smart Water to anyone who has a motorbike/moped and lives in the North Wales Area.

Smart Water is a special liquid, used by police and acts as a forensic marker to deter criminals and recover stolen property. The liquid is virtually invisible under normal light but glows brightly under UV light and contains a unique forensic code that can trace items back to their owner.

The team are inviting anyone with a motorbike/moped, who live in North Wales, to the café and they will mark it up there and then.
